Cloverdale wins county volleyball titles
The Cloverdale eighth grade won the Putnam County championship in two games 25-17 and 25-22. The Clovers headed into County with injury and absences. The team worked hard to try and make adjustments to the line-up to cover the substitutions that were new to the normal line-up.
The team looked slow to start but came through with solid play at crucial times. Leading the service line was Justeena Wellington with 10 points, Paige Gruener with 10 points, seven digs, and four kills. Kayla Cheatham with 10 points, seven digs. Bristy Skiles with eight points and four digs. Bradanne Toney with seven points, nine kills, two blocks, eight digs. Cedar Woodworth one point and one kill.
"Congratulations eighth graders on a fabulous season (season record 19-3) full of hard work and dedication," coach Traci Toney said.
The CMS seventh grade won the Putnam County title in three games. Leading the Clovers were Adrianna Patterson with 13 points, Lyndsay Roboson with 12 points and Rebeka Jordan with nine points.
