Mitchener arrested for probation violation
GREENCASTLE -- A Coatesville woman who stole more than $55,000 from Old National Trail special education cooperative was arrested Friday for probation violation.
Tammy Y. Mitchener, 35, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 4:04 p.m. Friday after a warrant was issued for her arrest earlier in the day.
She was slated for a hearing in Putnam County Circuit Court Monday afternoon.
Putnam County Prosecutor Tim Bookwalter said Mitchener was supposed to be living with her mother in the Heritage Lake area. The state alleges she was residing elsewhere, a violation of her terms of probation.
Mitchener spent more than a year in prison, serving from July 2009 to October 2010, before being released to a community transition program.
She was convicted of one count of Class C felony corrupt business influence and one count of Class D felony theft. She was sentenced to five years, with three years to be served
According to court records, Mitchener wrote $56,639.19 worth of checks from Old National Trail to a vendor called PC Technologies, which turned out to be a dummy corporation she set up.
