Stanley R. Irwin, 67, of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2008. He was born on Jan. 23, 1941 in Henderson, Texas to Forrest H. and Hazel M. Irwin. Stan was a 1959 graduate of Terrell High School in Terrell, Texas, where he was a member of the 1957 Texas State Champion football team. He received a full football scholarship to Baylor University, playing in the 1960 Gator Bowl and graduated in 1963, receiving a B.A. degree in English...

Eileen (Sue) Hartle 86, of Waveland died at Ben Hur Home on June 3, 2008. She was born on Nov. 2, 1921 to William and Stella Howe Peterman at Indianapolis. She married Carl L. Hartle on Sept. 23, 1939 at Mace. He died on Sept. 13, 2004. Survivors include two daughters Brenda and son-in-law Charles Daniels of Waveland, Linda and son-in-law Chuck Brady of Crawfordsville, two sons Donald Hartle of Florida and Terry Hartle of Shannondale; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, 14 step-great grandchildren, three sisters Marlyn Sherril of Clinton, Carolyn and husband Steve Lichlenwalter of Cra-wfordsville, Betty and husband Art Volt of Hammond, two brothers John and William Peterman of Crawfordsville.. ...

Frank Alex, 88, of Bedford, died Monday, June 2, 2008 at Bliss House in Bedford. Born Feb. 4, 1920, in Maywood, Ind., he was the son of Mike and Hazel (Kugelman) Alex. He married Rose Nevejean (Conklin) Alex on Aug. 17, 1937, and she survives. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he later worked as manager of Office Services, Eli Lilly and Company, Lafayette, before retiring...
