ROACHDALE -- The Greencastle JV boys' basketball team remained undefeated in the county as well as the WCC by defeating North Putnam 31-22 Thursday night. Noah Cook opened the scoring by hitting two deep thee-pointers and the young Tiger Cubs never trailed in the contest. A low-scoring first quarter ended in favor of GHS by a 6-2 count...

Greencastle girls' basketball was up 7-0 on Friday night before North Putnam even had a shot attempt. Before the Cougars had a bucket it was 11-0. The Tiger Cubs forced 29 Cougar turnovers on their way to a 64-30 West Central Conference victory. Greencastle (10-7, 3-1 WCC) came out in a press, forcing several early Cougar turnovers...

The first win in nearly a month was practically in the bag for Cloverdale's girls' basketball squad with five minutes to go and a 20-point lead over South Putnam. And yet it took nerves of steel and a late three-point play by Laura Worthington for the Clovers to relax after the Eagles cut a 44-24 deficit down to three before the hosts finally emerged 53-46 winners...

CLOVERDALE -- It was homecoming at Cloverdale High School Friday night. After the Clover girls kicked off the night with a victory, the boys continued their winning ways with a 79-39 win over South Putnam. This was a big game for both teams, with Cloverdale (13-1, 5-0 WCC) having a chance at its first outright West Central Conference title since 1983. It would also be the first coach Pat Rady's career at Cloverdale, s they have shared the title twice in his 10 years...

The Greencastle Tiger Cubs hosted the rival North Putnam Cougars for a Friday night showdown. The game did not disappoint and the hosts were victorious, 44-37. It was the kind of low-scoring affair that North Putnam has thrived in this season, but the offense never quite got on track for the Cougars...
