SPENCER--The Cloverdale boys' and girls' cross country team made the travel down to Spencer to compete in an event against the Owen Valley Patriots Tuesday. Based on the top four placers, both Patriot teams took home the gold. They won with scores of 13 (girls) and 20 (boys)...

BRAZIL--With the number of cross country races dwindling before the WCC, Putnam County and sectional meets, Greencastle, North Putnam and South Putnam took part in the Northview Invitational Tuesday afternoon. The Tiger Cubs, winners in both the boys' and girls' races the previous year, both finished second marginally behind the host Knights 57-60 and 48-52...

The Greencastle boys' soccer team has turned up its practices to try and motivate the players for the late-season push toward the sectional match-ups. The plan was noticeable on the field Tuesday, when West Vigo visited the Tiger Cub (5-3) field and made the trip back to Terre Haute after losing 4-1...

"Who Shot Putnam County?," the largest exhibit of the year at the Putnam County Museum, will open Saturday, Sept. 20. The exhibit features photos, photographers and cameras of the 1850s to the 1930s. On display will be works by photographers from around the county and information about the people and processes behind the photos as well as many beautiful old cameras...

Enrique "Quico" Rivera Prats, 83, of Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away on Sept. 12, 2014. Born Sept. 25, 1930 in San German, Puerto Rico, Quico retired from Queens Group Indiana in 1990. He retired from military service in 1992 after serving his country for 24 years. Quico served in the United States Marine Corps and United States Army. He also served in the Puerto Rico Air National Guard, New York Air National Guard and Indiana Air National Guard...
