County hit with $124,962 in additional fees from railroad

The heartburn over a long-delayed bridge project in Madison Township is not over. On Tuesday, the Putnam Commissioners received word of a $124,962 invoice from CSX Railroad regarding the Bridge 276 project in Madison Township. Originally closed in the spring of 2022, the bridge, which carries County Road 400 West over the railroad, was supposed to be completed by August of last year, but did not reopen until late last month, with many of the delays blamed upon the railroad company itself...
