Charles William Ullrich Sr., 86, Greencastle, died Friday. Born in Indianapolis, he was the son of Dr. Arlie John and Kathleen Commons Ullrich. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Indianapolis and the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., class of 1944. Ullrich was a Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy during World War II, retiring in 1964 after 20 years of service...

Opal E. Schwalbe, 95, Noblesville, formerly of Greencastle, died Thurs-day. Schwalbe was born in Hazelwood, the daughter of Simeon and Flora (Duncan) Leitzman. She was the widow of Clarence "Hoppy" Schwalbe. She belonged to the First Christian Church in Greencastle...

Robert J. Magill, 26, Greencastle, died Wednesd-ay at his residence. Born in Clinton, he was the son of Darlene J. Farner and Edward Magill. He was a graduate of Greencastle High School class of 2000. He had attended Rose Hulman Institute and Indiana State University, taking various art classes. He had previously worked with IAC at the Lear Corporation...

Rosemary Dorothy Marie Massing Delp, 79, died Thursday at her home. Born in Wolcott, she was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church and a volunteer with Project ANGEL of Hendricks County. Survivors include her husband, Robert Delp Sr.; her children, Connie Duffie, Bob Delp Jr., Rita Hodson and Debby Collins; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren...

Betty Louise Cummings, 86, Ladoga, died Friday at the Ben Hur Nursing Center. Born at Ladoga, she was the daughter of Warren D. and Hazel Smith Britts. She graduated from Ladoga High School in 1940 and attended beauty college in Indianapolis. She worked at a beauty shop in Crawfordsville for a short time...

Norman Lee Cox, 71, Monrovia, died Thursday at his residence. Born in Greencastle, he was the son of Paul and Mildred (Thompson) Cox. He married Ann (Petty) Cox on Oct. 19, 1985, and she survives. He attended Indiana State University and was a customer service representative for IBM, retiring in 1991 after completing 35 years of service...

Putnam County's 4-H program has surpassed the 1,000 mark. Participation in the 2007 4-H program was at 1,196 youth, Purdue Extension Educator Lauralee Baugh told the Putnam County Commissioners this week.
