ROACHDALE --The North Putnam High School wrestling team went 1-4 Saturday in its own invitational. The Cougars beat Rockville 37-36 while losing to Owen Valley 34-33, 48-27 to Bishop Chatard, 71-5 to Greenfield Central and 69-6 to Gibson Southern. Edward Jay Lucas of Ricon, Ga. died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009 after a battle with cancer. He was born in Indianapolis in 1959, the son of Bernice and James Lucas. He was raised in Cloverdale and a graduate of Cloverdale High School. Mr. Lucas was a veteran of United States Air Force and gave proud service to his county in Desert Storm. After his service in the Air Force, he worked as an aviation electrician for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation...

Carolyn Wren Larkin, 85, of Plainfield died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 in Plainfield Healthcare Center surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 20, 1924 in New Ross to George S. and Ozella Miller Wren. She graduated from Greencastle High School in 1942 and attended Indiana University in Bloomington.
