PCSO to host Drug Take Back Day event Oct. 28

In coordination with the national Drug Take Back Day effort on Saturday, Oct. 28, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office will be taking part. Unused prescription drugs may be dropped off at PCSO, 13 Keightly Rd., Greencastle, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for misuse of medications...

DAR members clean up historic Marion Township cemetery

FILLMORE — Members of the Washburn Chapter of the DAR met at the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Marion Township on Saturday, Oct. 7 for a general cemetery cleanup day. Yucca was hacked, debris was removed and stones were cleaned. This historic cemetery, located on County Road 525 East just south of 50 South, contains the tombstones of many early Putnam County citizens, including Revolutionary War patriot Julius Glazebrook, who served in Williams Company in Tucker’s Virginia Regiment. ...
